JOIN THE HELEN O'GRADY DRAMA CLASSES AND DEVELOP A HAPPY, CONFIDENT CHILD!
How to dramatically develop a happy child!
We live in an exciting world of technology where computers abound in most homes and schools, where many children have become more computer literate than their own parents and schools have large budgets to develop technology. Within this fast-moving world, many children lack the essential communication skills to push themselves forward in this fast-paced world.
‘Success in later in life is often dependent on our development as a child. Developing sound communication skills, in the early years, where we are able to put our case forward in this ever demanding world is a paramount to unlocking the world in which we live.
“Releasing a child’s creative and expressive potential through drama is a key to a child’s healthy development. By developing children’s confidence and self-esteem, the curriculum of the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy allows each and every child to fulfil their potential by developing communication skills in a fun-filled environment.”

HOG teacher acting in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters
We are very proud to announce that one of our teachers, Moustafa Khalil, has been casted in the production of the American University in Cairo. The Three Sisters, is written by Anton Chekhov in 1900 and considered to be one of the best written plays in the theatre world. It tells the story of the Prozorov family, the three sisters (Olga, Masha, and Irina) and their brother Andrei and shows their struggle to cope with the world they live in. Throughout the play, we see all the characters strive to accomplish what they most seek only to fail and lose everything in the end. Chekhov is one of the most celebrated playwrights in the world and Three Sisters has influenced and changed drama, storytelling, and literature for years.
The show times are running from December 2nd till December 9th 2010 at the Malak Gabr Theatre in the New AUC Campus in New Cairo. For more information and/or tickets please contact AUC theatre box office.

In the pictures you can see our famous storybook characters meeting at the storyland, Goldilocks eating her porridge and the lower primary's fantastic foxes sneaking into the farm and the Farmer and Mrs. Gills milking the cows.

YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOPS
Our Cairo branch has been running youth theatre workshops at schools in Cairo which have turned out to be a huge success! The latest one was held at the American International School at New Cairo where students ages 13-18 participated in our one hour long workshop during their school day. It was such a great fun working with so enthusiastic, positive and energetic drama students!
UPPER PRIMARY TV COMMERCIALS
One of the favourite things the upper primary students enjoy doing are the TV commercials. Each student gets a change to plan, draw and perform their own designed commercial couple of times during the term. They really stretch their imagination to the full length and give amazing ideas nobody would ever think of before!
