Cairo Principals, Maija Lamu and Jaylan El Zoheiry, were
presented with Africa Franchisee of the Year Award 2011! The award goes for
their outstanding work in Cairo, which has been done with great energy and
enthusiasm despite the difficulties going on in the country this year. Over
their years of operation, they have consistently grown the Academy.
The Helen
O’Grady Drama Academy is a worldwide drama institute founded in 1979 in
Australia. Today the academy has branches all over the world and is the
largest in Africa. The Cairo branch was founded in 2007 with around 100 students, from
which it has grown rapidly into the number of over 1,000 students today!
Helen
O’Grady Drama Academy helps children find their personal strengths. The academy’s
program is developed to boost children’s confidence, self-esteem and
communication skills, encompassing 15 years of a child’s life. This is why there are numerous examples how the drama classes have helped an insecure
and withdrawn child became more open, confident and outspoken.
Children
can take part in the program either in school as part of school curriculum or as
an after school activity, or in the evening studios which are located in different parts of Cairo. In 2012 the Helen
O’Grady Drama program is carried out in many international schools around Cairo
including MAADI BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, NEW CAIRO BRITISH INTERNATIONAL
SCHOOL, CAIRO ENGLISH SCHOOL and others. The evening studios are located in
6th OF OCTOBER CITY, HELIOPOLIS, MAADI and NEW CAIRO.
Congratulations
again Helen O’Grady Drama Academy Cairo franchisees Maija Lamu and Jaylan El Zoheiry!
